Dwayna Litz on Breaking Sound Radio (Los Angeles)

I was asked to tape an interview for a major radio station in Los Angeles (that normally only plays pop and rock) who is going to put my latest song, “Stayin’ Gone,” in rotation all summer! I am really honored, and it was fun taping voice overs for Breaking Sound Radio and answers to the interview questions they gave me.

I found a cool, private studio here in Sarasota (that used to be owned by The Allman Brothers), and it made for a nice video of the voiceovers, which they also wanted.

So thankful to get to work with Breaking Sound Radio in Los Angeles!

I also found out today that I can film my forthcoming podcast there at Baysound Studios, too.

Dwayna Litz releases “Stayin’ Gone” – a powerful, high-energy country single that instantly grabs your attention! Recorded at the legendary Ronnie’s Place studio in the heart of Nashville, the track blends the soulfulness of classic country with the energy of rock. Partnering with iconic fiddler and producer Tim Crouch, Litz has created a sound that’s impossible to ignore. Nashville Ear Reviews "Stayin' Gone" by Dwayna Litz

Music Review: “Staying Gone” by Dwayna Litz

By Steve McNaron, NashvilleEar.com

Dwayna Litz’s new single, “Staying Gone,” is a powerful ballad that captures the emotional complexity of a woman torn between heartache and strength. At its core, this is a song about inner conflict—a woman deeply aware that she’s involved with someone who isn’t good for her, yet wrestling with the lingering desire to stay. What makes the song so compelling, however, is that it’s not about surrender; it’s about resolve. The strong, self-willed woman within her prevails, keeping her staying gone and, more importantly, staying strong.

The track opens with an intimate arrangement—a delicate guitar and haunting violin—setting the tone for Dwayna’s signature sweet, strong, and clear vocals. It’s a stripped-back beginning that draws you into the emotional honesty of the lyrics. As the song builds, it evolves into a full-band production, professionally mixed and sonically rich, showcasing not only Dwayna’s vocal power but her artistic maturity.

There’s a palpable sense of growth in this track. Dwayna Litz has always had talent, but with “Staying Gone,” she reaches a new peak in songwriting—one marked by truth, experience, and emotional depth. Her lyrics don’t just tell a story; they live it.

As someone who’s followed her music for years, I can confidently say this is a milestone in Dwayna’s career. It reflects her years of dedication, her refined artistry, and her fearless approach to vulnerability in music.

I absolutely love “Staying Gone” and can’t wait to hear what Dwayna brings us next.

Keep up the great work, Dwayna!

Classic Country Soul Finds Its Voice in Dwayna Litz’s Heartfelt “Stayin’ Gone”

"...Dwayna Litz does not just sing songs. She inhabits them..."

If you haven’t met Dwayna Litz yet, let this be your invitation into the world of a true American songstress and a storyteller whose music bridges the heartfelt charm of country with the timeless elegance of Jazz. With songs published by Universal Music and Spirit Music, and recordings under her own Litz Music label, Dwayna is a rare gem — equally at home interpreting Great American Songbook classics as she is penning raw, emotional originals like “Stayin’ Gone.”

From the very first strum of the guitar, “Stayin’ Gone” unfolds like a personal letter — intimate, resolute, and laced with quiet heartache. Dwayna’s voice doesn’t beg for attention; instead, it earns your trust. There’s a lived-in warmth to her tone — a classic country soulfulness that makes every word ring true. Her vocal delivery is unhurried and sincere, allowing the emotional weight of the lyrics to settle in like dust on an old photograph.

The instrumentation is beautifully understated. A gentle acoustic guitar leads the way, anchored by a steady groove that never distracts, only deepens the reflective atmosphere. The production keeps things honest — no flashy tricks, just organic textures that let the story breathe.

At its core, “Stayin’ Gone” is about choosing peace over pain, about finding freedom in goodbye. It’s not a song of bitterness but of quiet strength — a graceful exit delivered with dignity and heart.

Dwayna Litz doesn’t just sing songs; she inhabits them. “Stayin’ Gone” is proof that sometimes the softest voices leave the deepest mark.

Songweb Reviews Dwayna Litz's "Stayin' Gone"

(Working in the studio with friend and music legend, Charlie McCoy)

“It’s clear from the first few notes that this song comes straight from the heart. What stood out to me most is the sincerity in your vocal delivery. There’s a classic country soul to your voice that carries the weight of the lyrics with real conviction…and the production feels authentic, not overdone…Stayin’ Gone definitely feels lived-in and genuine. The song has heart, and it reflects an artist who’s unafraid to be vulnerable. That kind of sincerity is always worth spotlighting.”Songweb
