Dwayna Litz Podcast Soon to Come and More

New podcast, soon to come, on the Dwayna Litz Music YouTube channel, and Apple and Spotify, as we have been preparing for that this week. It was recorded at Baysound Studios in Sarasota, FL.

Also, thanks to the radio stations still playing my music this summer. An interview I did for Breaking Sound Radio in Los Angeles will soon be posted on my DwaynaLitzMusic YouTube channel, too.

It has been a very busy June! The goal is for the new podcast to begin either next month or in August, and once it begins it will be running weekly. More updates on that will be posted, as we are now working on the trailer for the intro.

Thanks again to radio stations from Los Angeles to NYC and from Spain, the UK and Brussels to East Africa and Portugal for playing my music, especially "Stayin' Gone" and "Maybe," this summer.

"Maybe" by Dwayna Litz Gets International Air Play

“Maybe” is a song about falling in love. It depicts the surprise of meeting someone new and how, in the beginning throws of chemistry, you ask yourself, “Is this for real?”

“Maybe.”

Dwayna Litz pours her heart into this song about the present, the future and looking back. “I better sit down and catch my breath…If this isn’t real, then what can I believe?” It’s a peaceful flow, caught up in the vulnerability of loving someone forever—just “maybe.”

Guitars: B. James Lowry/ Piano: Jeff Taylor/ Fiddle, Mandolin: Tim Crouch/ Bass: Dennis Crouch/ Background vocals: Monte Allen and Suzanne Young/Recorded at Ocean Way in Nashville/ Recording Engineer: Travis Humbert/ Mixing Engineer: Billy Decker

Songweb Reviews Dwayna Litz's "Maybe"

“Maybe” is a heartfelt ode to the rush of unexpected love, and Dwayna truly pours her soul into every line. I love this song because of its sincerity; the warmth in her vocal delivery that made me feel the fluttering questions of new romance right alongside her. The classic, almost retro-style arrangement brings a timeless charm, and her phrasing—especially on the word “Maybe”—feels honest and lived-in. –Songweb.net

Brazil and Spain Playing Dwayna Litz's "Maybe"

Thank you, Radio Caviar Musical in Spain for playing Dwayna Litz's "Maybe" and thank you, Acoustic Journeys in Brazil!

"Dwayna has bottled that perfect retro-country magic - from the warm, vintage tones to the wistful storytelling that lingers like golden hour light. As a recurring artist we play, she consistently delivers that rare presence and spirit and fresh authenticity we crave. The way her vocals dance with those twangy guitar licks creates an instant classic feel that our listeners adore." --Acoustic Journeys, Brazil

"Dwayna Litz’s 'Maybe' captures the tender hesitation of a new affair"

(Also being played in rotation on "Saddle Up It's Country Time" out of Los Angeles, CA)

Review from Zillions Magazine:

Dwayna Litz's new single, "Maybe," captures the feeling of falling in love with a simplicity that feels personal, much like reading a handwritten letter. The music has a smooth, inviting quality that makes you feel cozy, like a gentle breeze on a warm day. "Maybe" transcends being just a love of music. It captures a truly special moment. It's about that brief pause when you meet someone new and sense that spark of possibility.

With her warm voice, Litz transports listeners to a place of openness and curiosity. The music embodies the spirit of Nashville right from the start. Recorded at the legendary Ocean Way studio, it has a strong musical background. The gentle guitar by B. James Lowry and the melodic piano by Jeff Taylor creates a lovely sound. Tim Crouch's fiddle and mandolin add a special touch, while Dennis Crouch keeps the beat on bass. Background singers Monte Allen and Suzanne Young provide harmonious support that perfectly complements Dwayna without overshadowing her.

At the heart of the song is Dwayna's voice, which tells the story beautifully. She sings with emotion, pulling at your heartstrings with grace. You can feel the yearning in her words when she sings. Rather than being an over-the-top love ballad, it's a gentle admission of feelings that's sweet and a little nervous, perfectly balanced on the edge of something new. Written by Dwayna Litz and Laura Vida, "Maybe" reflects the dance between hope and doubt, dreams and uncertainties. It doesn't force answers. It expresses emotions. In a world that often seeks to have everything neatly defined, this song's ambiguity feels refreshingly genuine.

Reviews for Dwayna Litz's "Maybe"

“...Maybe’ feels like a heart’s whisper in the quiet before love speaks out loud, and that’s the magic of Dwayna Litz; her ability to make the small feelings feel infinite. For longtime listeners, this track is a welcome return. For those new to her music, it is a perfect introduction to the kind of artist Dwayna is: elegant, honest, and unwaveringly in tune with the heart’s tenderest moments.” — Songweb.net

A Song in Response to the Riots in America

Not only is rain scheduled for this Saturday, but it may not be safe to be out, so we may not be able to do outreach this Saturday to underprivileged kids with my nonprofit organization, thanks to all of these riots scheduled in cities across America.

I am posting this song I wrote as a response to all of these riots and to so much anarchy and for more peace and civility within our cities.

It is on all streaming platforms and also YouTube.

Dulaxi Reviews Dwayna Litz's "Stayin' Gone" (Los Angeles)

“Staying Gone” is a beautifully moving and emotionally charged piece that carries a profound sense of inner strength and vulnerability. From the very first note, it pulls the listener into an intimate emotional space, one that is both delicate and empowering. The overall arrangement, from the instrumentation to your vocal delivery, is masterfully done, allowing the message and sentiment of the song to resonate deeply.

What struck me most were your vocals, so sweet, soulful, and heartfelt. There is a unique warmth and sincerity in your voice that feels incredibly genuine and relatable. Your vocal delivery carries such clarity and emotion, effortlessly communicating the feelings of pain, resolve, and ultimately self-liberation that are at the heart of the song. Every phrase is laced with passion and vulnerability, giving the impression that you are not just singing, but truly living the story behind the lyrics. The way your voice rises and falls with the emotion of each line is so powerful, it adds layers of nuance that keep the listener completely engaged.

Your vocals stand out so elegantly against the instrumental backdrop, forming the emotional core of the song. The production does an excellent job of allowing your voice to shine while still offering a rich and supportive soundscape. The instrumental composition is deeply emotive and beautifully complements your vocals. The gentle guitar strums bring a soft, contemplative texture, while the piano adds depth and tenderness. The drums are tastefully understated yet effective in guiding the song’s rhythm and emotional progression. Together, these elements create an atmosphere that feels both melancholic and empowering, a space where sorrow and strength coexist.

The lyrics of “Staying Gone” are captivating and deeply resonant. They speak to the heart of anyone who has found the courage to walk away from what no longer serves them. One of the most powerful lines for me was: “how many times have I told you goodbye… this time you’re gonna be surprised… I’m gonna do more than just try, I’m staying gone.” These lines perfectly capture a moment of emotional clarity and resolve. They portray the struggle of repeated goodbyes, but more importantly, the pivotal decision to finally reclaim one’s power. It’s a lyric that many listeners can find strength and solace in, especially those navigating the complexities of love, loss, and personal growth.

The message is further amplified by the song’s dynamic structure, there’s a subtle build-up that mirrors the emotional shift from vulnerability to empowerment. This careful attention to the arrangement allows the listener to journey through the emotions alongside you, making the experience even more personal and immersive.

The production quality of “Staying Gone” is absolutely top-notch. Each instrumental element is clean, well-balanced, and thoughtfully layered. The mix is clear, allowing the emotion in both the vocals and the instruments to come through with full impact. The transitions are seamless, and the overall sound is both polished and authentic. There’s a timeless quality to the production that makes the song feel like it could live comfortably across decades, yet still feel fresh and relevant.

In conclusion, “Staying Gone” is a poignant and empowering anthem of emotional strength and self-discovery. Your soulful voice, combined with the emotive instrumentation and compelling lyrics, creates a heartfelt and unforgettable listening experience.

Dwayna Litz on Breaking Sound Radio (Los Angeles)

I was asked to tape an interview for a major radio station in Los Angeles (that normally only plays pop and rock) who is going to put my latest song, “Stayin’ Gone,” in rotation all summer! I am really honored, and it was fun taping voice overs for Breaking Sound Radio and answers to the interview questions they gave me.

I found a cool, private studio here in Sarasota (that used to be owned by The Allman Brothers), and it made for a nice video of the voiceovers, which they also wanted.

So thankful to get to work with Breaking Sound Radio in Los Angeles!

I also found out today that I can film my forthcoming podcast there at Baysound Studios, too.
